Recipe Tip: Italian Pasta Casserole
Top Recipe for 4 Persons. All ingredients and tips for getting it right. This pasta classic is prepared in no time at all.
- 450 gpasta of your choice (e.g. penne or fusilli)
- 3 clove(s)garlic, finely diced
- 500 gtomato passata
- 75 gparmesan cheese, grated
- 400 gcherry tomatoes, halved
- someolive oil
- 1 ½medium onions, finely diced
- 1chilli pepper, seeded, diced (alternatively: 1/2 tsp chilli powder)
- 1 cup(s)single cream
- 200 gmozzarella, grated
- handfulfresh basil
- somefreshly ground black pepper
Step 1Preheat the oven to 180°C.
Step 2Bring enough water to the boil in a saucepan, add salt and cook the pasta al dente according to the instructions on the packet.
Step 3In the meantime, heat the olive oil in a pan and sauté the garlic, onions and cherry tomatoes. Then stir in the tomato passata and the cream. Add chilli (diced or powder) and season with salt and pepper. Then let the sauce simmer for 3 minutes.
Step 4Combine the pasta and sauce in a saucepan and sprinkle with mozzarella. Then bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes. Remove from the oven and - for a special taste - sprinkle with grated parmesan.
Step 5Garnish with fresh basil and enjoy!
