Golden milk bircher
Start your day right with a vegan breakfast bowl, made with oats and nut milk. It comes laced with golden turmeric for a hit of colour and an anti-inflammatory boost

Ingredients
- 100g porridge oats
- 40g chia seeds
- 1tbsp ground turmeric
- 1tsp ground ginger
- 1tsp ground cinnamon
- ¼tsp ground black pepper
- ¼tsp ground cardamom
- 400ml nut milk (we used almond)
- 60g dairy-free coconut yogurt plus extra to serve
- 1tbsp maple syrup plus extra to drizzle
- 2Golden Delicious apples, 1 cored and grated with the peel left on, 1 cut into batons
- 10g toasted coconut flakes
- 2tbsp pomegranate seeds (optional)
Instructions
Step 1
Combine the oats, chia seeds and spices in a large bowl. Stir in the milk, yogurt, grated apple and maple syrup, and leave for at least 1 hr or overnight.Step 2
Serve topped with extra yogurt, a scattering of coconut flakes, the apple batons, a drizzle of maple syrup and some pomegranate seeds, if you like.
