Hot buttered rum
Treat yourself to a hot buttered rum over the festive season, made with golden rum, soft light brown sugar, unsalted butter and festive spices
- 1tbsp soft light brown sugar
- 1tbsp unsalted butter softened
- small pinch each of ground cinnamon, nutmeg and allspice
- 50ml dark or golden rum
- cinnamon stick, to garnish
Step 1Put the sugar, butter and spices in the bottom of a heatproof glass mug and mix together. Pour in the rum followed by enough just-boiled water to top up. Mix well and serve with a cinnamon stick.
