Best Ever Chocolate Cake
This is THE best ever chocolate cake. Simple to make but luxurious, chocolatey, decadent and oh so moist. I think you will love it

Ingredients
- 1 ½Cups Icing Sugar, 202 grams
- 1 ½Tablespoons Cocoa Powder, 9 grams
- 1teaspoon Butter, melted, 5 mls
- 1teaspoon Vanilla Essence, 5 mls
- 1-3 Tablespoons Water, 15-45mls
- 1 ¾Cups Plain White Flour, 225 grams
- 1 ¾Cups Sugar, 350 grams
- ¾Cup Cocoa Powder, 67 grams
- 1 ½teaspoons Baking Powder
- 1 ½teaspoons Baking Soda
- ½teaspoon Salt
- 2Eggs
- 1teaspoon Vanilla Essence, 5 mls
- ½Cup Oil (I use Canola), 125 mls
- 1Cup Milk, 250 mls
- 1Cup Boiling Water, 250 mls
Instructions
Step 1
Preheat oven to 160C (320F)Step 2
Prepare a 25 x 25 cake tin, spray well with cooking spray or line.Step 3
In a large bowl add the flour, sugar, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda and salt and mix well until fully combined.Step 4
Add to this the eggs, vanilla, oil and milk and blend well.Step 5
Finally add the boiling water and carefully stir until completely blended together.Step 6
Pour into your prepared cake tin and bake for 35-45 minutes (all tin sizes differ so check often after 30 minutes)Step 7
In a medium sized bowl combine the icing sugar and cocoa powder and mix well.Step 8
Add to this the melted butter and vanilla essence and stir wellStep 9
Add water a little at a time until you have your desired consistencyStep 10
Spread generously over the cake, allow to set, slice and serve!Step 11
Store in an airtight container.
