Slow Cooker Beef Stroganoff
Delicious homemade Beef Stroganoff, tender in the slow cooker and packed with flavour

Ingredients
- 700-900 grams Beef (Chuck, Blade, Brisket etc)
- 2Tablespoons Oil
- 1Onion, finely diced
- 3teaspoons Garlic, crushed
- 400grams Mushrooms, cut into chunks
- 2Tablespoons Plain White Flour
- 1Cup Beef Stock, 250mls
- 1teaspoon paprika
- 2Tablespoons Tomato Sauce
- 2Tablespoons Worcestershire Sauce
- Pinch Salt & Pepper
- ½Cup Sour Cream, 125 grams
Instructions
Step 1
Set the slow cooker to LOW or HIGH depending on cooking time to pre-heatStep 2
In a frying pan brown the meat in 1 Tablespoon of oil in two batches and add to the slow cookerStep 3
Using the same pan add a further tablespoon of oil and add the onions and mushrooms and cook for 5 minutes until softened, stirring frequentlyStep 4
Add to this the garlic and flour and cook off for one minute. Stirring well.Step 5
Add this to the meat in the slow cookerStep 6
In a jug or bowl add the beef stock, paprika, tomato sauce and Worcestershire sauce and whisk togetherStep 7
Pour this over the meat mixture and stir to coat, season with salt & pepperStep 8
Cook for 4-5 hours on HIGH or 8 hours on LOW, my preferred method is lowStep 9
Once the meat is tender turn off the slow cooker and add the sour cream and stir wellStep 10
Serve the stroganoff hot over mashed potatoes with a side of vegetablesStep 11
Once cooled you can freeze this for another dayStep 12
