Raise a glass to summer with this easy tequila cocktail with added chilli warmth – try swapping tequila for mezcal for a smokier flavour
- Serves: 1 person
- ½tsp mild chilli powder
- 25ml lime juice, plus the zest of ½ a lime (reserve one squeezed lime wedge)
- 50ml blanco or reposado tequila
- 25ml triple sec (we used Cointreau)
- dash of hot sauce
Step 1Mix together 1 tsp of salt, the chilli powder and lime zest, and sprinkle onto a saucer. Rub the reserved lime wedge around the rim of a margarita or coupe glass, then dip in the chilli salt to cover the rim.
Step 2Put the lime juice, tequila, triple sec and hot sauce in a cocktail shaker with ice and shake well. Strain into the glass and serve.
