Easy Drop Sugar Cookies
This recipe is a great alternative to the traditional rolled sugar cookies. They're quick, easy, and deliciously soft and sweet.

Ingredients
- 2 ½cups all-purpose flour
- 1teaspoon baking powder
- ½teaspoon salt
- 1cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 ¼cups granulated sugar
- 1large egg
- 1 ½teaspoons vanilla extract
- Sprinkles

Gather the ingredients.Step 2
Sift together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.Step 3
Cream the butter and sugar together with an electric mixer until creamy and fluffy. Beat in the egg and vanilla.Step 4
On low speed, beat in the flour mixture, mixing until all of it is incorporated. Do not overmix or the cookies will turn out tough.Step 5
Cover and refrigerate the dough for at least 30 minutes, preferably 1 to 2 hours.Step 6
Preheat the oven to 350 F. Line two cookie sheets with parchment paper or silicone mats .Step 7
Scoop the dough using a heaping tablespoon or 2-tablespoon cookie scoop. Roll into a ball and, if desired, roll in colored sugar or sprinkles.Step 8
Place onto prepared cookie sheets at least 2 inches apart. Flatten slightly with your fingers.Step 9
Bake for 8 to 11 minutes, rotating the pans midway, or until cookies are puffed, no longer shiny, and lightly golden brown on the bottom.Step 10
Let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire cooling rack.
