Beef Tenderloin in a Cream Cheese and Mushroom Steak Sauce
For an elegant meal, use our recipe to grill beef tenderloins hot and fast, then serve them with a rich cream cheese and mushroom steak sauce.
- Serves: 4 persons
- 4(6-8 ounces) beef tenderloin steaks
- 1teaspoon salt
- 1teaspoon black pepper
- For the Sauce:
- ½medium onion (finely chopped)
- 1tablespoon olive oil
- 8cremini mushrooms (cleaned and sliced)
- 2cloves garlic (sliced)
- 7ounces cream cheese
- 2tablespoons half-and-half
- 2teaspoons black pepper
- Garnish: 2 tablespoons parsley (flat leaf, roughly chopped)
Step 1Preheat the grill for medium-high heat.
Step 2In a medium skillet, heat the oil and add the chopped onions. Cook for 1 minute.
Step 3Add mushrooms to the skillet and saute for 3 to 4 minutes.
Step 4Add the garlic to the skillet and cook for 1 minute. Remove from heat.
Step 5In a medium saucepan combine the cream cheese, half-and-half, and pepper. Blend well. Cook over medium heat until the mixture is smooth.
Step 6Add the cooked mushroom, onion, and garlic to the saucepan mixture. Keep warm.
Step 7Place the steaks on the grill and cook them until done to your liking, about 5 minutes per side.
Step 8Remove the steaks from the grill and let them rest for 5 minutes.
Step 9Place the steaks on individual serving plates. Pour the cream cheese and mushroom sauce over the steaks, top with chopped parsley, and serve.
