Instructions
Step 1
In a medium-sized pot, combine the water, sake, soy sauce, and sugar over medium-high heat.
Step 2
Once it comes to a boil, stir in the ginger paste.
Step 3
Reduce the heat to medium and add the sliced onions. Cook for about 4 to 5 minutes until soft and translucent.
Step 4
Add the thinly sliced beef prime rib to the pot and continue cooking for another 15 minutes or until the liquid reduces by half.
Step 5
Skim off any foam or fat as it rises to the surface.
Step 6
Serve by spooning the beef and sauce mixture over a bowl of rice. Top with red pickled ginger.
