This bread pudding with bourbon sauce was given to us in 1997 by Nick Sundberg, the chef at Kentucky's prestigious Beaumont Inn.

Ingredients
- 1pound French bread
- 3 ¼cups milk
- 3large eggs
- 2teaspoons vanilla extract
- ¾cup sugar
- ¼teaspoon cinnamon
- ¼to 1/2 cup pecans
- ¼to 1/2 cup raisins, optional
- For the Bourbon Sauce:
- 1cup sugar
- 6tablespoons butter
- ½cup buttermilk
- 1tablespoon bourbon (or more)
- 1tablespoon white corn syrup
- 1teaspoon vanilla extract
