Packard, a bartender at the Boston cocktail bar Drink, offers this applejack-based old-fashioned:

Ingredients

• 0.5 teaspoon cinnamon simple syrup
• 2.25 ounces Laird’s bonded applejack
• Scant 1/2 ounce Demerara simple syrup
• Dash of Fee Brothers Whiskey Barrel-aged bitters
• Orange peel
