Maple Smoked Salmon
Maple smoked salmon has a glaze that gives the fillet a nice crusty surface, locking in the juices and giving it a mild, sweet flavor.

Ingredients
- 4(5-ounce) salmon fillets
- 1cup maple syrup
- 2teaspoons sea salt
- 1teaspoon coarsely ground black pepper
- 2tablespoons unsalted butter

Gather the ingredients.Step 2
Clean and remove any skin from salmon fillets.Step 3
Place in a shallow baking dish and pour maple syrup over top. Turn to coat evenly.Step 4
Sprinkle each side with salt and black pepper.Step 5
Cover and refrigerator for 24 hours.Step 6
Prepare smoker. Place fillets in a smoker at about 200 F for about 1 1/2 hours.Step 7
When you are ready to remove the salmon from the smoker, heat the butter in a skillet.Step 8
Place fillets gently in skillet for about 2 minutes per side. This creates a nice glaze over the surface of the salmon.Step 9
