Maple Smoked Salmon
Maple smoked salmon has a glaze that gives the fillet a nice crusty surface, locking in the juices and giving it a mild, sweet flavor.
- Serves: 4 persons
- 4(5-ounce) salmon fillets
- 1cup maple syrup
- 2teaspoons sea salt
- 1teaspoon coarsely ground black pepper
- 2tablespoons unsalted butter
Step 1Gather the ingredients.
Step 2Clean and remove any skin from salmon fillets.
Step 3Place in a shallow baking dish and pour maple syrup over top. Turn to coat evenly.
Step 4Sprinkle each side with salt and black pepper.
Step 5Cover and refrigerator for 24 hours.
Step 6Prepare smoker. Place fillets in a smoker at about 200 F for about 1 1/2 hours.
Step 7When you are ready to remove the salmon from the smoker, heat the butter in a skillet.
