Ingredients
- Vegan Chocolate Cake:
- 1-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1cup granulated sugar
- ¼cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1teaspoon baking soda
- ½teaspoon salt
- 1cup cold water
- ⅓cup vegetable oil
- 1teaspoon white vinegar
- 1teaspoon vanilla extract
- Vegan Chocolate Frosting:
- 1 ½cups powdered sugar
- ½cup solid coconut oil
- 2tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
- 2tablespoons unsweetened almond or coconut milk
- ½teaspoon vanilla extract
- Vegan sprinkles or decorations, if desired

Gather the ingredients. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.Step 2
Place flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt directly into an 8-inch square baking pan. Stir to combine.Step 3
Pour water, oil, vinegar, and vanilla over flour mixture. Stir carefully to combine well and smooth out batter.Step 4
Bake for about 30 minutes or until a tester inserted in the middle comes out clean.Step 5
Cool completely on a wire rack before frosting.Step 6
To prepare the frosting, combine 1/2 cup of the powdered sugar, solid coconut oil, cocoa powder, milk, and vanilla extract. Whisk to combine. Slowing add the remaining powdered sugar, 1/4 cup at a time, until desired spreading consistency is achieved.Step 7
