Pecan Pie Cobbler

Ingredients
- ½cup unsalted butter
- 1cup all-purpose flour
- ¾cup sugar
- 3teaspoons baking powder
- ½teaspoon salt
- ⅔cup milk
- 2teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2cups coarsely chopped pecans
- 1cup firmly packed dark brown sugar
- 1 ½cups boiling water
- Vanilla ice cream or whipped cream, optional

Step 1
Gather the ingredients. Preheat oven to 350 F.Step 2
Place the butter in a 2-quart baking dish.Step 3
Heat in the oven until the butter is melted, about 3 to 5 minutes.Step 4
Meanwhile, in a large bowl combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.Step 5
Stir in the milk and vanilla extract .Step 6
Pour the batter mixture over the melted butter in the casserole dish.Step 7
Sprinkle the surface evenly with the pecans and brown sugar.Step 8
Slowly pour the boiling water evenly over the top and do not stir.Step 9
Bake, uncovered, until golden brown about 30-35 minutes.Step 10
Cool on a wire rack for 30 minutes. The cobbler will thicken as it cools.Step 11
