Ingredients
- 1teaspoon olive oil
- 2cloves garlic (minced)
- 1medium onion (finely chopped)
- 1(28-ounce) can no-salt-added chopped tomatoes (undrained)
- 2tablespoons balsamic vinegar
- ¼cup no-salt-added tomato paste
- 2tablespoons fresh basil (chopped)
- 2tablespoons fresh oregano (chopped)
- 2tablespoons fresh parsley (chopped)
- Freshly ground black pepper (to taste)
Instructions
Step 1
Heat oil in a large pan or skillet. Sauté garlic and onion over low heat until softened, about 5 minutes, making sure the garlic doesn't brown.Step 2
Add tomatoes, balsamic vinegar, and tomato paste. Bring to a boil then reduce the heat to a simmer.Step 3
Add chopped herbs and simmer uncovered for 15 minutes.
