  1. Step 1

    In a saucepan, combine the fava beans, with their liquid, minced garlic, and fresh lemon juice . Bring it to a boil and then remove from heat.
  2. Step 2

    Drain the excess liquid and coarsely mash the fava beans with a fork or a potato masher right in the pot. Return the pot to low heat. Add the tahini and salt, the hot water, and then the olive oil , 1 tablespoon at a time. Stir to your desired consistency. Add more water or olive oil, if needed. Garnish with parsley, if desired.

    Serve ful for breakfast with hot pita bread.
