Blackberry and Apple Cobbler

- For the Batter:
- ¼cup butter, softened
- ⅓cup sugar
- 1cup all-purpose flour, sifted
- 2teaspoons baking powder
- ¼teaspoon salt
- ½cup milk
- For the Fruit Filling:
- 2cups blackberries
- 1cup apples, diced
- ½cup sugar, plus more for sprinkling
Step 1Gather the ingredients.
Step 2Heat the oven to 375 F. Butter a 9-inch-round cake pan.
Step 3Cream the butter and 1/3 cup sugar until light and fluffy.
Step 4Sift together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
Step 5Add dry ingredients to creamed mixture alternating with the milk; beat until smooth.
Step 6In a separate bowl, combine blackberries, apples, and 1/2 cup sugar. Let stand for 5 minutes.
Step 7Put fruit mixture in the prepared cake pan. Pour batter over the fruit. Sprinkle with a little sugar.
Step 8Bake in the preheated oven for 45 to 50 minutes.
