Cyd's Christmas Snack
This recipe comes from my mom's homemade nuts-and-bolts recipe. Not being a huge fan of the mixed ingredients, I chose my favorite one and then spiced it up. Careful, it's addictive! Store in a large paper towel-lined container.
- Serves: 10 persons
- 1(12 ounce) package crispy corn and rice cereal (such as Crispix®)
- ½cup butter
- 2tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 2teaspoons hot pepper sauce (such as Tabasco®)
- 2teaspoons Cajun seasoning
- 2teaspoons onion powder
- 1teaspoon seasoned salt
- 1teaspoon garlic powder
Step 1Preheat oven to 250 degrees F (120 degrees C).
Step 2Pour cereal into a large roasting pan.
Step 3Melt butter in a microwave-safe bowl, about 90 seconds. Mix in Worcestershire sauce, hot pepper sauce, Cajun seasoning, onion powder, seasoned salt, and garlic powder. Pour mixture over cereal, coating evenly.
Step 4Bake in the preheated oven, tossing every 15 minutes, until crispy, about 1 hour. Let cool.
