Hoisin Dipping Sauce
Hoisin sauce, also called Chinese barbecue sauce, is a fragrant, pungent sauce used frequently in Asian vegetable stir-frys, marinades and grilling.

Ingredients
- 1tablespoon oil (for stir-frying)
- 1clove garlic (finely chopped)
- 1teaspoon ginger (chopped)
- 6tablespoons hoisin sauce
- 1tablespoon dark soy sauce
- 2tablespoons water
- ¼teaspoon salt
- 4drops sesame oil
- 1 ½teaspoons chile paste (or to taste)
- 1tablespoon peanuts (chopped)
Instructions
Step 1
Gather the ingredients.Step 2
Heat the oil in a wok over medium-high to high heat.Step 3
Add the garlic and ginger to the wok.Step 4
Stir-fry briefly until aromatic.Step 5
Turn the heat down to medium and stir in the other ingredients.Step 6
Heat through and remove from the stove. Cool.Step 7
Store in a sealed container in the refrigerator.
