Crock Pot Sweet and Sour Kielbasa
Your friends and family will enjoy this easy crock pot sweet and sour kielbasa. The dish includes pineapple chunks and homemade sweet and sour sauce.
- Serves: 8 persons
- 1(20-ounce) can pineapple chunks
- 2pounds kielbasa
- 1large onion
- 1bell pepper
- 2tablespoons cornstarch
- 2tablespoons apple cider vinegar (or balsamic vinegar)
- 1tablespoon soy sauce (low sodium)
- ⅓cup brown sugar (packed)
Step 1Place a sieve or colander over a bowl and drain the pineapple, reserving the juice.
Step 2Put the pineapple chunks in the slow cooker and set the juice aside.
Step 3Cut kielbasa into 1-inch to 2-inch lengths.
Step 4Peel the onion and cut it into quarters. Cut the onion quarters crosswise into 1/4-inch slices.
Step 5Cut the bell pepper into 1-inch chunks.
Step 6Add the kielbasa pieces to the slow cooker along with the onion and bell pepper.
Step 7To the bowl with the reserved juice, add the cornstarch and stir the mixture until smooth. Add the vinegar, soy sauce, and brown sugar; stir to blend.
Step 8Pour the juice mixture over the kielbasa.
Step 9Cover and cook on low for 4 to 6 hours.
