Low-Fat Brownies
These low-fat brownies make a wonderfully chocolately treat. The fat is cut by using canola oil, applesauce, and egg whites.

Ingredients
- ½cup all-purpose flour
- ½cup Dutch process cocoa
- ½teaspoon baking powder
- ½cup sugar
- ⅛teaspoon salt
- 2tablespoons canola oil
- 4ounces unsweetened applesauce
- 2teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1egg (lightly beaten)
- 2egg whites

Preheat the oven to 350 F. Spray an 8- by 8-inch baking pan with cooking spray.Step 3
Whisk the flour, cocoa, baking powder, sugar, and salt in a small bowl.Step 4
In a medium bowl, combine the oil, applesauce, vanilla, egg, and egg whites .Step 5
Gradually stir the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients just until well combined.Step 6
Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and bake for 20 minutes, until the sides pull away from the edge of the pan.Step 7
Cool in the pan and then cut into 16 squares.Step 8
