Oven-Fried Onion Rings
These oven-fried onion rings are low in fat, crisp, and incredibly easy to make. The secret is the panko breadcrumbs which add a crunchy texture.

Ingredients
- 3large egg whites
- 3tbsp. milk
- Pinch of cayenne
- 2large onions (yellow, sliced , separated into 1/2-in thick rings)
- ½cup flour (all-purpose, seasoned with salt and fresh ground black pepper to taste)
- 3to 4 cups panko (Japanese-style breadcrumbs)
- 1bottle vegetable oil spray

Gather the ingredients. Pre heat oven to 450 F.Step 2
Whisk the egg whites, milk, and cayenne together in a shallow bowl.Step 3
Spread the breadcrumbs in a shallow baking dish.Step 4
Add the onion rings to a large mixing bowl, sprinkle with the flour, and toss to coat thoroughly.Step 5
Working in batches, dip the floured onion rings first into the egg mixture, and then into the breadcrumbs to coat completely.Step 6
Transfer to baking sheets. Lightly coat the onion rings with cooking spray.Step 7
Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, or until golden-brown and crisp around the edges. Garnish with additional flaky salt before serving.
