Pulled Pork in the Slow Cooker
This Crock Pot pulled pork is cooked to perfection with just four ingredients. Shred the pork and serve it with buns, baked beans, and coleslaw.
- Serves: 10 persons
- 2medium onions (thinly sliced)
- 1(4-pound) pork shoulder roast
- 1 ½cups water
- 1(16-ounce) bottle barbecue sauce (or 2 cups homemade sauce )
- 1cup onion (chopped)
- Serving suggestion: buns and coleslaw
Step 1Gather the ingredients.
Step 2Place half of the thinly sliced onions in the bottom of the slow cooker.
Step 3Add pork and water, along with remaining onion slices.
Step 4Cover and cook the pork on low for 7 to 9 hours or 4 to 5 hours on the high heat setting.
Step 5Drain liquid from slow cooker.
Step 6Then shred or chop the meat coarsely, and discard excess fat.
Step 7Put the pork back in the slow cooker. Add barbecue sauce and chopped onion.
Step 8Cover and cook on low for 2 to 4 hours longer. Stir occasionally.
Step 9Serve with warm split buns and coleslaw.
