Sardine & sweet potato bake for dogs
Rustle up this all-natural dinner for your dog. Made from sardines, sweet potatoes and fresh thyme, it will be a real treat for any canine friend
- Serves: 1 person
- 2x 120g cans sardines in olive oil
- 1small sweet potato, about 250g, scrubbed and thinly sliced with a mandoline or a sharp knife
- ½tsp fresh thyme leaves
Step 1Heat oven to 200C/180C fan/gas 6. Drain the oil from the sardines into a bowl. Add the sweet potato slices and thyme, and toss until well coated.
Step 2Line an ovenproof dish about 25cm x 15cm with half the sweet potato slices. Mash the sardines roughly with a fork and spread them over the sweet potato, then top with the remaining slices. Cover tightly with foil and bake until the potatoes are very tender when pierced with a sharp knife – it will take about 45 mins. Leave to cool a little before serving to your dog.
