Warm and Hearty Chili
Warm and hearty chili will keep you fueled up on cold, wintery nights!

Ingredients
- 1large onion (chopped)
- 2cloves of garlic (chopped)
- 1tablespoon olive oil
- 2pounds ground beef (ground turkey or chicken can also be used)
- 1tablespoon cumin
- 2teaspoons onion powder
- ¼cup chili powder
- 2tablespoon paprika
- 1tablespoon salt
- 1teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1(16-ounce) can tomato sauce
- Optional: 1 (15.5-ounce) can kidney or pinto beans
- 16ounces water (use tomato sauce can to measure)
- 1tablespoon masa corn flour
- 4tablespoons water

Gather the ingredients.Step 2
Heat olive oil in a large Dutch oven on medium-high heat. Add chopped onion, salt and garlic and cook for 2 minutes, stirring often, until soft and fragrant.Step 3
Add ground beef. Break up the beef so that it lays evenly in the pan. Cook until browned and completely cooked through.Step 4
Drain the fat off of the beef, being careful not to drain off the onions. Add the spices and stir to combine.Step 5
Add the tomato sauce, beans if using, and water. Stir well. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 1 hour.Step 6
Mix masa flour with water. Add to the chili. Stir and cook another 10 minutes. Salt more to taste.Step 7
Serve over rice, pasta, or corn chips.
