- ¼cup sugar
- ½teaspoon salt

- ½cup butter (melted)
Instructions
Step 1
Gather the ingredients. Preheat oven to 350 F. Grease a 9 x 5-inch loaf pan and set aside.Step 2
In a large mixing bowl, combine the self-rising flour, sugar, and salt.Step 3
Pour in the beer and stir to combine.Step 4
Spoon the batter into the prepared loaf pan. Pour the warm, melted butter carefully over the top of the batter. It will not be absorbed into the batter until the baking begins.Step 5
Bake for 45 to 50 minutes, or until golden brown. Insert a toothpick or metal skewer to the center of the loaf. If it comes out dry and clean, it is done.Step 6
Cool in the pan on a wire rack for 15 minutes.Step 7
Holding a wire rack against the top of the loaf and quickly, but carefully turn it upside down so the top of the loaf is on the bottom. Set aside to cool. This will allow the butter to drift back into the loaf.Step 8
Once cool, slice and serve. Enjoy with a pat of butter and your favorite beer!
