Caribbean Flour Dumplings for Soups or Stews
This easy 4-step recipe for Caribbean dumplings is meant to be cooked in a soup or stew. Ingredients include cinnamon, nutmeg, and more.

- 1cup all-purpose flour
- ⅛teaspoon ground cinnamon
- ⅛teaspoon grated nutmeg
- ⅛teaspoon salt
- 1teaspoon sugar
- 1teaspoon baking powder (optional)
- 5tablespoons water
Step 1Gather the ingredients.
Step 2In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, sugar, and baking powder if using. Make sure to whisk all the ingredients thoroughly.
Step 3Add enough water, 1 tablespoon at a time, to make a dough.
Step 4Knead for 1 minute and cover and set aside for 20 minutes or until ready to use.
Step 5Divide the dough into 1-inch pieces and roll into balls if you like or add just as is to soups or stews 8 to 10 minutes before the soup or stew is due to finish cooking.
Step 6When the dumplings are added to the pot, cover with a tight lid and do not open before the 8-minute mark.
