Shorecook's Cranberry-Apple Crisp
This is an easy way to enjoy a yummy dessert that looks like you spent hours in the kitchen. Using canned sliced apples makes this a breeze to put together. Topping with vanilla ice cream makes it a winner!
- Serves: 8 persons
- 1(27 ounce) can sliced apples
- ¼cup cranberries
- 1cup all-purpose flour
- ¾cup white sugar
- ½cup cold salted butter
- 1½ teaspoons ground cinnamon
- ½gallon vanilla ice cream
Step 1Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Butter an 8-inch square glass baking dish and set aside.
Step 2Drain apple slices and place in the baking dish. Randomly scatter cranberries among the apples.
Step 3Combine flour, sugar, and butter in a food processor. Process until pea-sized crumbs are formed, stopping just short of it being cookie dough. Cover the apples with the crumb mixture.
Step 4Bake in the preheated oven until golden brown, about 45 minutes. Remove from the oven and sprinkle with cinnamon. Serve warm topped with a scoop of ice cream.
