Healthy Chocolate Chip Cookies
These cookies are full of healthy oats, bran flakes, and nuts for a uniquely healthy chocolate chip cookie recipe.

Ingredients
- 1cup all-purpose flour
- ½teaspoon baking soda
- ½teaspoon baking powder
- ½cup butter (at room temperature)
- ¼cup granulated sugar
- ⅓cup firmly packed brown sugar
- 1large egg
- ½teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1cup old-fashioned rolled oats (or quick-cooking oats; not instant)
- ½cup bran flakes cereal
- ½cup dark chocolate chips
- ½cup walnuts (chopped)
Instructions

Preheat oven to 350 F.Step 2
Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper or a Silpat mat. Or spray with nonstick cooking spray.Step 3
Stir together the flour, baking soda, and baking powder in a medium bowl. Set aside.Step 4
In a large bowl, beat the butter until creamy with an electric mixer. Beat in the sugars. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract.Step 5
Add the flour mixture until well combined.Step 6
Stir in the oats, bran flakes, chocolate chips, and walnuts.Step 7
Drop by the teaspoonful onto prepared cookie sheet approximately 1 inch apart.Step 8
Bake 12 to 14 minutes. Cool on wire racks. Serve warm or store in a tightly covered container for up to three days.
