Passover Macaroni and Cheese Recipe
A simple recipe for Passover "Mac" and Cheese, made with matzo farfel, milk, sour cream, cheddar cheese, and eggs.
- Serves: 6 persons
- 3cups matzah farfel
- 2cups milk
- 1 ½cups sour cream
- 8ounces (2 cups) shredded cheddar cheese, plus more to taste
- 3ounces (6 tablespoons) unsalted butter, melted
- 3large eggs, beaten
- ¼teaspoon salt
- ¼teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
Step 1Gather the ingredients.
Step 2Preheat the oven to 350 F. Butter a 2-quart casserole or baking dish.
Step 3In a large bowl, mix the matzo farfel, milk, sour cream, cheese, melted butter, eggs, salt, and pepper.
Step 4Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish.
Step 5Cover with foil and bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes.
Step 6Uncover an bake for 20 to 25 minutes longer, or until the casserole is set and golden. If desired, sprinkle the top of the casserole with additional cheese during the last 5 to 10 minutes of baking.
Step 7Serve hot and enjoy.
