Easy Beef Lo Mein

Ingredients
- 8to 12 ounces flank steak (you can also substitute a different cut of steak)
- For the Marinade
- 2tablespoons oyster sauce
- 1 ½teaspoons cornstarch
- For the Noodles
- 8ounces lo mein noodles (or spaghetti in a pinch)
- ¼cup sesame oil
- 1carrot (shredded)
- 1clove garlic (minced)
- ½cup Chinese cabbage (shredded)
- 2scallions (chopped; reserve some for garnish)
- 1teaspoon sugar
- 2teaspoons soy sauce (plus more to taste if you prefer)

Gather the ingredients.Step 2
Cutting across the grain, slice the steak into thin strips.Step 3
In a bowl, whisk together the oyster sauce and cornstarch.Step 4
Add the beef strips and marinate for 30 minutes to 1 hour.Step 5
Bring a pot of salted water to a boil. Add the noodles and cook until al dente. Don’t overcook.Step 6
Drain and toss with about half the sesame oil and set aside.Step 7
Heat about 2 tablespoons of the oil in a wok or large pan over medium-high heat. Add the beef and stir-fry to cook to your desired doneness.Step 8
Remove with a slotted spoon and set aside. You can place the beef on a paper towel to absorb some extra oil.Step 9
Add some more oil to the wok if needed. Stir-fry the carrots and garlic, being careful not to let the garlic burn.Step 10
Add the cabbage and scallions and stir-fry another couple of minutes.Step 11
When the vegetables are still slightly crunchy, add the noodles and beef back in.Step 12
Add the sugar and soy sauce. Toss to mix well and heat through.Step 13
Serve with some chopped scallions for garnish.Step 14
