Fresh Blueberry Sauce Recipe
Use this simple fresh blueberry sauce on cheesecake, ice cream, bread pudding, or pound cake. It's great on pancakes and waffles, too!
- Serves: 4 persons
- 2cups fresh blueberries
- ⅓cup granulated sugar
- 1tablespoon fresh lemon juice
- ⅛teaspoon salt
- ½teaspoon vanilla extract
Step 1Gather the ingredients.
Step 2Wash the blueberries in a colander . Sort through them and pick out pieces of stem.
Step 3Transfer the blueberries to a saucepan and use a potato masher to crush them.
Step 4Add the sugar, lemon juice , and salt. Mix well.
Step 5Place the pan over medium heat and bring the blueberry mixture to a boil. Boil for about 1 minute.
Step 6Add the vanilla extract and stir to blend.
Step 7Transfer the sauce to a bowl or container and let it cool to room temperature. Cover and refrigerate.
Step 8When ready to serve, warm the sauce slightly to spoon over bread puddings, pancakes, cake, or ice cream.
