Maple and Brown Sugar Turkey Brine
This maple turkey brine can be used on any kind of poultry and pork. It gives a sweet maple and brown sugar flavor to meats.

Ingredients
- 4quarts/3.8 liters water
- 2cups/475 ml dark brown sugar
- 1 ½cups/360 ml maple syrup
- ¾cup/180 ml sea salt
- ¾cup/180 ml soy sauce
- 5to 6 whole cloves garlic (peeled)
- 6whole bay leaves
- 3large sprigs thyme
- 2teaspoons/10 ml whole peppercorns

Gather the ingredients.Step 2
Place 2 quarts of water and other ingredients in a large pot and bring to a boil, stirring to dissolve the sugar and maple syrup.Step 3
Remove from heat, add the remaining 2 quarts and allow the brine to cool completely (this might take an hour or more) before using to brine turkey or pork.
