Griddle Flat Bread
This is a great, easy flatbread recipe that makes a delicious side dish with any meal. Use for pizzas, wraps, or serve alongside grilled kebabs.
- Serves: 5 persons
- 3cups all-purpose flour
- 1cup water (ice cold)
- 3tablespoons shortening
- 2teaspoons salt
- 2teaspoons baking powder
- 1pinch baking soda
Step 1Combine all ingredients and form into a dough.
Step 2Cover with a clean dishcloth and allow to sit for at least 30 minutes.
Step 3Cut into 4 or 5 equal pieces. Roll out to a thin 8-inch circle.
Step 4Prick the surface of the dough with a fork and cook on an oiled hot griddle. Turn with a spatula.
Step 5Watch these flatbread disks closely because they cook fast.
Step 6Serve warm.
