Annie's Texas Chicken Fried Steak
Use cube steaks to make Annie's Texas chicken fried steaks or tenderize round steaks by hand. Add mashed potatoes and gravy for a fabulous meal.

Ingredients
- 1pound cube steaks (or tenderized round steak; see below)
- ½cup flour (seasoned with salt, pepper, and a little garlic powder*)
- 1large egg (beaten)
- ½cup bread crumbs (or cracker crumbs; more as needed)
- Oil for frying

Gather the ingredients.Step 2
Dredge meat with flour seasoned with salt, pepper, and a little garlic powder.Step 3
Dip into beaten egg.Step 4
Press breadcrumbs or soda cracker crumbs into meat.Step 5
Fry in about 1/2 inch of hot oil (approximately 350 F) until golden brown. *For each cup of flour, add 2 teaspoons of salt and 1 teaspoon of freshly ground black pepper.
