Slow Cooker Pork Chops With Apples Recipe
Apples and brown sugar add slightly sweet flavor to these easy slow cooker pork chops. This quick and easy meal requires very little prep work.
- Serves: 6 persons
- 6pork chops (about 1-inch thick)
- 2tablespoons vegetable oil
- Salt (to taste)
- 6tart apples (such as Granny Smith; cored and thickly sliced)
- Optional: 1/4 cup currants (or raisins)
- 1tablespoon lemon juice
- ¼cup brown sugar
Step 1Gather the ingredients.
Step 2Trim the pork chops and discard any excess fat.
Step 3Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the pork chops to the skillet and sear, turning to brown both sides.
Step 4Sprinkle the pork chops with salt and place them in the slow cooker.
Step 5Combine remaining ingredients—apple slices, currants or raisins, lemon juice, and brown sugar—and pour over the pork chops.
Step 6Cover and cook on low for 6 to 8 hours, or on high for about 3 to 4 hours. Serve and enjoy.
