- 6pork chops (about 1-inch thick)
- 2tablespoons vegetable oil
- Salt (to taste)
- 6tart apples (such as Granny Smith; cored and thickly sliced)
- Optional: 1/4 cup currants (or raisins)
- 1tablespoon lemon juice
- ¼cup brown sugar
