This treat has everything you love about a chocolate-covered strawberry in the form of a brownie! You will swoon for the chopped fresh spring berries in every bite.
- Serves: 16 persons
- ¾cup unsalted butter (melted)
- 1 ½cups granulated sugar
- 1 ½teaspoons vanilla extract
- ¾cup all-purpose flour
- ½cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- ½teaspoon baking powder
- ½teaspoon salt
- 1cup coarsely chopped fresh strawberries
- 2ounces chopped white chocolate bar (or white chocolate chips)
Step 1Gather the ingredients. Heat the oven to 350 F. Grease an 8-inch square baking pan and set aside.
Step 2In a large bowl, combine the melted butter, sugar and vanilla extract.
Step 3Add the eggs and beat well to combine.
Step 4In another large bowl combine the flour, unsweetened cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
Step 5Gradually add the flour mixture to the egg mixture, beating until well blended.
Step 6Spread the brownie batter evenly into the prepared baking pan.
Step 7Sprinkle the chopped fresh strawberries evenly on top of the batter. Bake for 40 to 45 minutes or until brownies begin to pull away from sides of pan.
Step 8Cool completely in the pan on a wire rack.
Step 9Once cooled, melt the white chocolate and drizzle over the brownies.
