Grand Marnier Cake

Ingredients
- 1cup butter, softened
- 1 ½cups sugar, divided
- 3large eggs, separated
- 2cups all-purpose flour
- 1teaspoon baking powder
- 1teaspoon baking soda
- 1cup sour cream
- 1tablespoon orange zest, from 1 orange
- ½cup chopped pecans
- ¼cup orange juice
- ⅓cup Grand Marnier liqueur, or orange juice
- 1cup pecan halves

Gather the ingredients.Step 2
Cream butter with 1 cup of the sugar until light and fluffy.Step 3
Beat in egg yolks.Step 4
Sift together the dry ingredients; add to the first mixture alternately with sour cream, beating until smooth.Step 5
Stir in orange zest and chopped pecans.Step 6
Beat egg whites until stiff; fold into batter.Step 7
Pour batter into a buttered 9-inch tube pan and bake at 350 F for 45 to 50 minutes.Step 8
Combine remaining 1/2 cup sugar with orange juice and Grand Marnier; pour over hot cake.Step 9
Decorate top with pecan halves. Cool on rack before removing from pan.Step 10
