Microwaved Asparagus Recipe
The microwave makes fast and easy work of cooking asparagus. Seasoning and butter make the vegetable flavorful and delicious.

- 1pound fresh asparagus , rinsed
- 1teaspoon kosher salt
- ½teaspoon onion powder
- ½teaspoon garlic powder
- 1tablespoon lemon juice
- 1tablespoon butter (cut into 8 pieces)
Step 1Gather the ingredients.
Step 2Trim the tough root ends from the asparagus spears, then cut them into 2-inch lengths. Place in a microwave-safe bowl with a lid.
Step 3Sprinkle the asparagus with the kosher salt, onion powder, and garlic powder.
Step 4Pour in the lemon juice and dot with the butter.
Step 5Cover with a lid and microwave on high power for 2 to 3 minutes.
Step 6Stir to distribute seasonings.
Step 7Cook another 2 to 3 minutes until the asparagus is tender. Stir once more before serving.
