Broiled Ham Steak With Sweet Mustard Glaze
This ham steak is brushed with a sweet mustard glaze and broiled. A mixture of two mustards, brown sugar, and cider vinegar form a delicious crust.
- Serves: 4 persons
- 1 ½pounds ham steak (center-cut; cooked)
- 2teaspoons ground mustard
- 1teaspoon Dijon mustard
- ¼cup brown sugar (packed)
- 2tablespoons cider vinegar
Step 1Gather the ingredients.
Step 2Preheat the broiler. Line a shallow rimmed baking pan or broiler pan with foil and place a rack in the pan.
Step 3Place the ham steak on the rack.
Step 4In a bowl, combine the ground mustard and Dijon mustard with the brown sugar and vinegar and stir until smooth.
Step 5Brush the glaze mixture over the top of the ham steak.
Step 6Broil the ham about 3 to 4 inches from the heat source until the glaze is bubbling and lightly browned, about 4 minutes.
Step 7Turn the ham over and baste with more of the mustard mixture.
Step 8Broil for another 3 to 5 minutes, until browned.
Step 9Serve whole or sliced, over a bed of mashed potatoes if you like, and enjoy.
