Run For The Roses Pie II
It's a true Kentucky favorite. This pie combines semi-sweet chocolate with walnuts for a truly decadent experience. Accompany with ice cream if desired.

Ingredients
- 1cup brown sugar
- ⅓cup light corn syrup
- ⅓cup unsulfured molasses
- 3tablespoons butter
- 3tablespoons bourbon
- ½teaspoon vanilla extract
- ½teaspoon salt
- 4eggs
- 3tablespoons half-and-half cream
- 2cups chopped walnuts
- ⅓cup semisweet chocolate chips
- 1(9 inch) unbaked pie crust

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).Step 2
In a large, heavy saucepan, combine brown sugar, corn syrup, molasses, butter, bourbon, vanilla and salt. Heat to boiling, stirring frequently. Boil 1 minute, stirring constantly. Remove pan from heat and let mixture cool.Step 3
In a small bowl, beat eggs with half-and-half until blended. Mix eggs into cooled syrup mixture until well incorporated. Stir in walnuts and chocolate chips. Pour the filling into pie crust.Step 4
Bake in preheated oven for 45 to 50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Serve warm or at room temperature.
