    Gather the ingredients.

    Heat the oven to 375 F.

    Butter an 8-inch square baking dish.

    In a large bowl, toss the apple slices with the lemon juice, the brown sugar, 2 tablespoons of flour, cinnamon, and nutmeg; arrange in the prepared baking dish.

    To make the topping, in a medium bowl, combine the granulated sugar, 1/2 cup flour, and the oats; stir in the melted butter.
