Basic Blueberry Waffles Recipe
Whether you're using fresh or frozen blueberries this recipe, made with beaten egg whites, is a delicious breakfast dish for the whole family.
- Serves: 6 persons
- 2eggs (separated)
- 1 ½cups milk
- ½cup melted butter
- 2cups sifted all-purpose flour
- 2teaspoons baking powder
- ½teaspoon salt
- 1tablespoon sugar
- 1cup fresh or frozen blueberries (rinsed)
Step 1In a small mixing bowl, beat the egg whites until stiff; set aside.
Step 2In another bowl, beat the egg yolks; add milk and melted butter.
Step 3Sift dry ingredients together; add to the egg yolk mixture and mix until smooth. Fold in blueberries. Gently fold in beaten egg whites.
Step 4Bake in a hot waffle iron.
