Low-Calorie Pesto With Pasta
Lower the calorie count in this delicious dish by decreasing the amount of cheese and using a really good Parmesan. Pesto the low-calorie way.

Ingredients
- 12oz. whole wheat spaghetti
- 1large clove of garlic
- 1cup fresh basil leaves (washed with stems removed)
- 1tbsp. pine nuts (preferably toasted)
- 3tbsp. grated Parmesan cheese
- 2tbsp. olive oil
- ¼tsp. salt (or to taste)

Gather the ingredients.Step 2
Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Add the spaghetti, and cook 8 to 10 minutes, or until al dente , and drain.Step 3
Meanwhile, in a food processor or blender, combine the garlic, basil and pine nuts and process until finely minced. Add the cheese and process until well combined. Pour the oil slowly through the feed tube, watching until the desired consistency is achieved. Season with salt.Step 4
Toss the pasta together with the pesto sauce and serve immediately.Step 5
