Overnight French Toast Recipe
The bread is soaked, arranged on the baking sheet, then refrigerated overnight. This is an excellent breakfast to prepare for overnight guests.

Ingredients
- ¼cup butter ( room temperature )
- 12slices French bread slices (about 3/4- inch thick)
- 6eggs
- 1 ½cups milk
- 4tablespoons sugar (granulated)
- 2tablespoons maple syrup (or golden cane syrup)
- 1 ½teaspoons vanilla
- ½teaspoon salt
- Optional: powdered sugar, optional
- Garnish: maple syrup or other syrup, for serving

Gather the ingredients.Step 2
Spread the 1/4 cup of butter over the bottom of a large, shallow-rimmed pan, such as a jelly roll pan .Step 3
Arrange bread slices over the butter.Step 4
In a large bowl, beat eggs, milk, sugar, maple syrup, pure vanilla extract, and salt until well blended. Pour mixture over bread. Turn bread slices to coat thoroughly.Step 5
Cover pan with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight.Step 6
Preheat oven to 400 F.Step 7
Bake for 10 minutes. Turn bread over and continue baking until just golden brown, about 5 to 8 minutes longer.Step 8
Transfer the cooked French toast to a serving platter or individual plates.Step 9
If desired, sprinkle with confectioners' sugar.Step 10
