Slow cooker turkey
Streamline the usually long process of making Christmas dinner with this slow cooker turkey. It will free up oven space for roasting your sides

Ingredients
- 2turkey breasts, skinless
- 1medium carrot, chopped
- 1onion, peeled and quartered
- 6peppercorns
- 1bay leaf
- 1rosemary sprig
- few thyme sprigs
- 125ml white wine (optional)
- roast potatoes, carrots and greens, to serve
Instructions
Step 1
Season the turkey all over and put in the slow cooker with all the remaining ingredients, along with 1 litre of water. Set your slow cooker to low and cook for 3-4 hrs until no pink meat remains, or a meat thermometer reads 75C at the thickest part of the breast.Step 2
Remove the turkey from the slow cooker and serve, or cover with foil and leave to rest while you make gravy using the stock that remains (see tip, below). Serve the turkey with the gravy, roast potatoes, carrots and greens.
