Cabbage Rolls With Ground Beef and Tomato Sauce

Ingredients
- 1large head of cabbage
- 1pound lean ground beef
- ½cup instant rice, or cooked rice
- 1egg, lightly beaten
- ½cup finely chopped onion
- 1teaspoon salt
- ½teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- ½to 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon , divided, to taste
- 1(10.5-ounce) can tomato soup, undiluted
- 1(14.5-ounce) can diced tomatoes

Gather the ingredients.Step 2
Carefully tear the leaves off the cabbage and cook in boiling water or steam in the microwave until wilted enough to be flexible. Set aside to cool.Step 3
Mix the ground beef, rice, egg, onion, and salt, black pepper, and half of the cinnamon together in a medium bowl.Step 4
Shape a few tablespoons of the mixture into a cylinder, then roll up in a cabbage leaf. Secure rolls with toothpicks.Step 5
Combine the soup and tomatoes in a Dutch oven or large saucepan.Step 6
Place cabbage rolls in the pot. Sprinkle with up to 1/2 teaspoon of the remaining cinnamon.Step 7
Cover and simmer for 1 1/2 to 2 hours.
