These crispy Cajun fried dill pickles are practically fat-free when you cook them in the air fryer.
- Serves: 12 persons
- 2 ½to 3 dozen dill pickle slices
- ¾cup flour
- 2 ½teaspoons Cajun seasoning
- Optional: 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- Dash cayenne pepper, or to taste
- 3large eggs, beaten
- 2tablespoons pickle juice
- 2cups panko breadcrumbs
- Optional: 1/2 cup ranch-style dressing, for dipping
Step 1Gather the ingredients.
Step 2Place pickles on paper towels and blot with more paper towels to remove excess moisture.
Step 3Arrange three bowls or containers for breading. In first container, combine flour with Cajun seasoning, garlic powder, if using, and cayenne pepper. Combine beaten eggs and pickle juice in second container, and add breadcrumbs to third container.
Step 4Dip a pickle slice in seasoned flour. Shake off excess flour, then coat with egg mixture. Let excess egg drip off, then coat pickle in panko crumbs. Repeat until all of the pickles are breaded.
Step 5Arrange pickles on a rimmed baking sheet or on plates. Preheat air fryer to 400 F for 5 minutes.
Step 6Spray basket with cooking oil spray, then arrange pickles in it, leaving a bit of space between each pickle.
Step 7Cook pickles at 400 F for 6 minutes. Spray lightly with cooking oil spray, then turn them over. Bake for 5 more minutes or until golden brown.
Step 8Remove to a plate or basket and serve with Ranch dressing or your favorite dip.
