Apple Tea Barbeque Sauce
This apple tea BBQ sauce is not too sweet, not too spicy. To serve, bring back up to temperature and serve on the side or small amount over smoked ribs.

Ingredients
- 1cup ketchup
- ½cup apple cider vinegar
- ½cup frozen apple juice concentrate
- ⅓cup cooked crumbled bacon, ground in spice grinder
- ¼cup soy sauce
- ¼cup packed brown sugar
- 2teaspoons yellow mustard
- 1teaspoon garlic powder
- 1teaspoon paprika
- ½teaspoon lemon pepper
- 2bay leaves
- ½cup grated onion
- ½cup black tea leaves
Instructions
Step 1
Combine ketchup, vinegar, apple juice concentrate, bacon, soy sauce, brown sugar, mustard, garlic powder, paprika, lemon pepper, and bay leaves together in a large saucepan; bring to a boil. Stir onion and tea leaves into ketchup mixture, reduce heat, and simmer, stirring often, until sauce is slightly thickened, 10 to 15 minutes. Strain sauce and cool.
