Make chicken tatsuta-age, a delicious dish of deep-fried chicken pieces marinated in a soy sauce mix and coated with potato starch.
- Serves: 4 persons
- 1 ¼pound boneless chicken thighs , cut into about 1-inch pieces
- 3tablespoons soy sauce
- 2tablespoons sake
- 1tablespoon mirin
- 2teaspoon ginger juice
- 1cup katakuriko, or cornstarch, or as needed for coating
- ½cup vegetable oil , or amount needed for deep-frying
Step 1Gather the ingredients.
Step 2Mix soy sauce, sake, mirin and ginger juice in a large bowl.
Step 3Marinate chicken in the sauce for 30 to 60 minutes.
Step 4Take out the chicken from the sauce and dry lightly with paper towels.
Step 5Preheat oil to about 330 F in a deep pan.
Step 6Lightly coat chicken pieces with katakuriko and deep-fry them until done.
Step 7Remove the chicken and drain on paper towels.
Step 8Serve and enjoy.
